Long Weekend on the Horizon Memorial Day weekend is almost here! If you're planning to hit the road sans pup, we ask that you please book your boarding ASAP to ensure we have a spot.
Since this is a peak holiday requiring a 2-night minimum stay, there will be an additional $5 charge per dog, per night from Friday, May 22nd through Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, as well as continuing Wednesday, May 27th through Sunday, May 31st, 2026. This will be applied to your Memorial Day and post-holiday reservations.During this busy time, daycare reservations must be made in advance, but we'll always do our best to accommodate.
We will be CLOSED on Memorial Day (Monday, May 25th, 2026) for all drop-offs, pick-ups, and daycare. In the meantime, we’re getting our pups warmed up for the long weekend with a week full of fun, enrichment, and just the right amount of zoomies.
More Than Just Daycare
Some dogs just need a little more than open play, and that’s exactly why we created Pupster Academy and Wagaloo. These structured enrichment programs give dogs the chance to learn, build confidence, burn energy, and have fun in a more intentional, engaging environment.
On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, our lead trainer, Victoria, works with small groups of dogs in our structured daycare program. Puppies join Pupster Academy. Older dogs step into Wagaloo. Either way, they’re getting real, intentional work like handling skills, cue work, exercise, and agility in a setting that’s calm, focused, and fun.And when they’re not in session, they’re in open play with their friends, so the day stays balanced.
Victoria follows up every session with videos and a report card, so you actually get to see what your dog is working on and how they’re growing. It’s the kind of thing that makes you want to show everyone. These programs are especially wonderful for puppies still finding their footing, timid dogs who need a confidence boost, and those big, bouncy, full-of-energy pups who do best with a little more structure in their day.
If you haven’t tried it yet, we’d love to change that. These activities can be added on to your dog's daycare or boarding stays, and will be handled by our staff. May 18th Time for the Mighty Monday Challenge! Pups will jump a hurdle, then immediately settle into a down stay and hold their position until released. It’s all about movement followed by control. May 19th Training Tuesday: Sit & Stay Showdown!
Does your pup sit and stay when it really counts… or only when nothing exciting is happening? This week, we’re putting those skills to the test by adding distractions into the mix, helping turn “sit” and “stay” from a suggestion into a reliable habit. It’s a fun way to build focus, patience, and real-world manners so your dog can stay calm even when things get interesting. This is a one-on-one 15-minute session, but if there's something your dog needs to work on, please let us know, and we can easily incorporate it into your pup's regular daycare or boarding stay. We'll also have our Woofle (doggy waffle) add-on available.
May 20th Pups will paint their paw print onto a natural river rock and add their name to create a simple, one-of-a-kind keepsake for Crafty Canine Day. It’s perfect as a paperweight, desk decoration, or a special stone for your garden.
May 21st For Agility Exercise Enrichment, we'll set up a challenging agility course for the pups.
May 22nd We’re kicking off Memorial Day weekend with a fun agility-style parade full of zoomies, jumps, and celebration for Gym Class Friday. Other daily add-ons:Frozen Peanut Butter KongIce Cream

June is Dog Licensing Month! Each June, dog owners across Connecticut take a moment to renew their pup’s license. It’s a simple way to help keep pets safe and healthy. Licensing ensures your dog is up to date on rabies vaccinations and makes it easier to reunite if they ever get lost.
Places like TownHouse are also required by law to keep a record of each dog’s license, so staying current helps keep things running smoothly for everyone. If you haven’t already, now’s the perfect time to prepare, June will be here before you know it.
For your convenience, here’s a link to Westport’s dog licensing information, including details on new licenses and renewals. If you live in a nearby town, a quick search online should help you find the right info for your area. And of course, if you need a hand, we’re always happy to help!
