Dear Casey,
Account Ending in 8210
We're sending you this message to confirm a change to your above-referenced Netspend Account (“Account”). Our records show you recently opted-in to the Debit Card Overdraft Service (the “Service”). However, the Service Has Not Yet Been Activated On Your Account.
In order to activate the Service, you must meet ALL of the initial eligibility requirements, including receiving direct deposits totaling at least within thirty-five (35) days of enrollment in the Service. You will receive another message from us when the Service has been activated on your Account. Remember: Once the Service has been activated, you must continue to receive direct deposits totaling at least every thirty-five (35) days to maintain eligibility for the Service.
Using the Service: Once the Service is active, we may authorize and pay overdraft transactions, in our sole discretion, resulting from one-time PIN- and signature-based purchase transactions and ATM withdrawals initiated using your card. It is important to keep track of the Available Balance in your Account at all times.
Remember, for the first overdraft transaction that settles and creates a negative Actual Balance, you will have twenty-four (24) hours to add sufficient funds to your Account to bring your Account back to a zero or positive Actual Balance to avoid incurring any Overdraft Fee(s) (“Grace Period”). If you do not add funds to your Account within those twenty-four (24) hours, you will be charged an Overdraft Fee of $20.00 for each transaction that overdraws your Account by more than -$10.00, up to a maximum of 5 Overdraft Fees per calendar month, and up to a maximum of 45 Overdraft Fees per annual period. See your Deposit Account Agreement for more information, including how to avoid overdrafts.
Please note, you must add sufficient funds to cover any negative balance as soon as possible. We will apply any funds credited to your Account to your negative balance before such funds are available to you for use. Visit app.netspend.com to learn about the ways you can add funds to your Account.
Opt-Out: If you decide you no longer wish to participate in the Service, you may opt-out at any time by calling Customer Service at 1-866-647-6929 or visiting the Online Account Center. While you may opt-out of this service at any time and avoid future Overdraft Fees, you will still be responsible for any negative balance you may have incurred on your Account.
Alternative Products: While the Service may help you avoid card declines for important purchases, this is an expensive service and should not be relied upon to meet your financial needs. Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically will not pay overdrafts if you fail to meet the eligibility requirements for this service or you have incurred too many Overdraft Fees. At this time, we do not offer any alternative overdraft or credit products for our Accounts serviced by Netspend. However, alternatives exist that might be less expensive and more advantageous to you. Such alternatives might include a credit card advance, a home equity line of credit, personal loans, existing savings, or borrowing from a relative. We encourage you to research these alternatives before using this Service.
The Debit Card Overdraft Service is an optional service offered to eligible Netspend Debit Account Accountholders by Pathward, N.A., Member FDIC. Please review the Debit Card Overdraft Service section in your Deposit Account Agreement or call Customer Service if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Your Netspend Debit Account Team
