Hey Don,
Circling back on my last email.
Most CPAs we speak to think none of their clients qualify—they hear "R&D" and picture pharmaceutical labs.
While pharmaceutical labs definitely qualify(!), the credit more commonly rewards businesses that solve technical problems. If a client has ever:
- Developed or improved a product, formula, or software,
- Designed or engineered a new process or technique, or
- Hired engineers, developers, or designers to overcome a technical challenge,
They've likely performed qualifying activity.
Over the past 30 years, we've discovered millions in R&D Credits across agriculture, manufacturing, software, architecture, and several other fields where people are building or improving things.
Does that description bring any of your clients to mind?
